Creating a wine and tapas hybrid
The gallery space on the first level floor in the Booths Lytham store, adjacent to the existing café, had been used as an exhibition space for local artists for many years. Fewer and fewer artists began exhibiting in the space and therefore, a new concept was needed to bring the space to life. A new urban artisan bar proposition of an 1847 / Wine & tapas hybrid was developed. The space itself was a complete blank canvas which enabled more budget to be focussed on the fixtures, fittings and furniture. The budget was very minimal and so was a great project to get stuck into getting creative on a budget.
My role was to conceptualise the entire space, designing a workable counter to house all the requirements expressed by the food operations team, choosing all the aesthetics, from paint to colour and style of furniture and how the shelving units were to be merchandised. I also created some installation features to add a little character to the finished design.
