Creating magic and cheer each festive year

Conceptualising and art directing the highly anticipated Booths Christmas Book for the past 6 years has been by far the most rewarding experience to date. People, Product and Place have been the core values in providing the very best of the offering at Christmas time and this carried through to the design of the book and entire Marketing campaign end to end each year.

I’m incredibly passionate about book design and designing the Christmas books has been a great challenge over the years. Ideating at the beginning to develop a strategy and theme each year was crucial. Collaboration between other departments to establish the product content continued for many months during the book design. The physical designing of the book; creating page layouts, designing graphic elements, building style guides and photography plans, and not to forget capturing photography and piecing all of the content together with support from the whole marketing team has seen a real evolution in execution from one year to the next.

Creating curiosity around what the next book cover design will be; will it be illustrative or photography led. Which models would be next to feature? Directing models is wonderful; the excitement of Christmas is so natural that creating the magic continues to exceed the expectations for colleagues and customers every year. It has been an absolute pleasure to have played such an instrumental role in the creation of these masterpieces!

‘Tis the most wonderful time of the year
